Opinion: Has Pochettino’s right-back headache been solved for him?

Tottenham Hotspur boss, Mauricio Pochettino, was left with somewhat of a selection headache when it came to right-back this week.

The latest injury news revealed that Walker-Peters is indeed unavailable for selection after picking up an injury against Newcastle.

The news also confirmed that Juan Foyth is still out injured and Eric Dier, who has covered right-back in the past, has an irritation in his right hip.

Kieran Trippier was obviously sold to Atletico Madrid and reports have suggested that Serge Aurier will not be picked as he may be leaving the club still (Guardian).

So, who is left? If you ask me, the only real option left for Pochettino is Moussa Sissoko at right-back, a position he has covered in the past.

There are some other more out-there options like Ben Davies, Danny Rose, Japhet Tanganga, etc, but Sissoko seems like the only sensible choice left.

Poch now has to make a decision over Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen…
