Opinion: How England could save Tottenham’s Harry Kane problem

Tottenham Hotspur undoubtedly have a Harry Kane problem. The club has one of the best strikers in the world, without the ability to give him the trophies that his quality deserves.

Are Spurs capable of delivering a cup or two? Yes. Are they knocking on the door of the Premier League and Champions League? Not even close.

Harry Kane is good enough to move to any club in the world and win any trophy in the world. So how exactly do Spurs keep him?

The man must be dying to lift major silverware, while also juggling whether he wants to leave his boyhood club. Fortunately for Spurs, England could come in and save their skin.

If the Three Lions are able to bring home the Euros trophy this summer, Kane could have the best of both worlds, a major trophy while remaining loyal to Tottenham.

Of course, a player like Kane will only be determined to win more after getting a taste of silverware, but a trophy this summer would at least buy Tottenham time to show that they can compete in the near future.

Let’s be honest, the perfect scenario for Kane would be to stay at Spurs, win a title, break the club scoring record, lift a trophy with England and break Rooney’s scoring record.

If he can tick one of those things off this summer in an England shirt, he could be more forgiving with his Spurs checklist for the next 12 months.
