Opinion: Jose Mourinho should play these two players in holding mid roles today

Tottenham Hotspur have the chance to move into fourth place in the Premier League with a win today as they come up against Norwich City at Carrow Road.

Norwich are currently bottom of the league and struggling for results, while Spurs have seen an uptick in form since Mourinho took over.

However, the Special One has somewhat of a selection dilemma ahead of the clash that comes just 48 hours after the win at home to Brighton.

Central midfielders, Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko, are both banned from playing as they collected too many yellow cards in the first half of the campaign.

Dele Alli was seen holding his groin at the end of the Brighton game, while Tanguy Ndombele didn’t even make the matchday squad. Meanwhile, Victor Wanyama is surely not fit enough to start a Premier League match.

So, who should Mourinho play? I’ll start with who I would love to see in the starting line-up, followed by who I think we will see.

A holding midfield duo of Juan Foyth and Giovani Lo Celso would be extremely interesting for me. I have always wanted to see Foyth tried out in a midfield role, and Lo Celso pulling the strings from deep could prove to be profitable too.

However, I believe that a duo of Eric Dier and Christian Eriksen is probably the more likely, judging by Mourinho’s decisions so far at the helm of Spurs.

Who do you want to see start?
