Opinion: Kane needs to do more for Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane, has been one of the few standout players for the North London side this season.

The centre-forward has seven goals in ten games for Spurs so far this season, scoring five in the Premier League and another two in the Champions League (Transfer Markt).

Kane has also netted five times for England since the start of the new season, including a penalty in the 2-1 loss to the Czech Republic last week.

Harry will likely line up for the Three Lions as captain again this evening as they face an away match against Bulgaria.

Berbatov recently claimed that Kane has to grow and improve if he is to be considered one of the best and I can’t help but agree (Mirror).

While I have been impressed with Harry so far this season and I believe he is one of the best strikers in the world, if he wants to be remembered up there with some of the game’s greats, he must do more.

Kane is at the level where he should be dragging Spurs to victories even when they are playing poorly, much like Messi, Ronaldo, Lewandowski, and Mbappe do for their respective teams. It’s a big ask, but he is a big player.

I do think that Kane during 2017 was collecting the ball, spinning defenders, and smashing home from all kinds of places. He was scoring and creating goals from nothing.

At the moment, he is converting well, but he is feeding off scraps from his teammates. I want to see him take the Premier League by the scruff of the neck as he did a couple of years ago, scoring hat-trick after hat-trick.
