Opinion: My man of the match against Southampton

Tottenham Hotspur are back on track in the wins department after a victory over Southampton at the new stadium yesterday.

In true Tottenham tradition, the much-needed win came the hard way, as Spurs had a man sent off and gifted Southampton a goal after a Hugo Lloris mistake.

However, goals from Tanguy Ndombele and Harry Kane, as well as some superb defending, was enough to secure all three points for Spurs.

The man of the match contenders were between the two-goal scorers and Harry Winks for me, but Tanguy just edges it on the day.

I think the Frenchman really encapsulated everything Spurs have been missing in recent weeks, from tough-tackling, to passion, energy, driving runs, and positive passing.

Not only this, but he even had the skill and composure to sweep home the opener with his left-foot in the first half.

With each passing game, Ndombele looks to be getting closer and closer to the form that we saw so much of at Lyon. I also believe that he is ideally suited to the Premier League style and pace.

A huge performance from the new recruit and well worth the MOTM award for me.
