Tottenham Hotspur at least capped off a disappointing Premier League season with a 4-1 win away to relegated Leeds United this evening.
Let’s take a look at how the individual players got on:
Fraser Forster – 7.5 – Made a fair few decent stops and blocks throughout the match and his distribution was good. Sad to say, but the Englishman has just looked a lot more solid than Hugo this season.
Emerson Royal – 8 – Really solid at the back playing in a four and also contributed going forward with a delightful ball through to Pedro Porro for the opener. Looks to have a real place in the squad these days.
Davinson Sanchez – 7 – Not always the most reliable but no real complaints today. He defended the box very well and passed out from the back without any issues.
Clement Lenglet – 7.5 – Similar performance to Sanchez but also came up with some nice tackles and blocks in and around the area. A steady option at the back, even if he hasn’t set the world alight.
Ben Davies – 7 – Did a decent job in a back four after a bit of a disaster showing last week. Still think he looks better on the left side of a back three. Will be interesting to see if he stays this summer.
Pedro Porro – 9 – A fantastic performance from the wing-back. Once you release the shackles of defending, he looks such a potent attacking threat, coming up with a goal and an assist. He also helped to create the opener for Kane too. So excited to see him under an attacking manager.
Oliver Skipp – 7.5 – A classic Skipp performance today. He gets his foot in and puts his body on the line every single week, no matter his form. On the ball, if he improves, he could become a great player.
Yves Bissouma – 8 – Looks like a different player now that he is back from injury. Solid in the tackle and progressive on the ball. The old cliche – ‘he will be like a new signing next year’.
Heung-min Son – 7 – Hit and miss for Sonny today. He did well to assist Kane for the opener, but often came off second best when taking players on 1v1 and didn’t look that sharp in the final third. Needs a break to get back to his best.
Dejan Kulusevski – 7 – Nothing too eye-catching today. He does well in the pocket as a number ten, but his eye for that final pass or shot has vanished this season. He showed such remarkable consistency last year in that regard so hopefully we see it return next campaign.
Harry Kane – 10 – A perfect representation of Harry Kane. Scoring goals in what has been a well-below-average team this season. 30 goals in a season for this Spurs side is nothing short of a miracle. A brace is a nice way to say goodbye, but let’s hope it isn’t the case.
Pape Matar Sarr – 6 – Came on and did a decent job in the centre of the park. Needs a loan to a Premier League club next season.
Richarlison – N/A
Matthew Craig – N/A – Nice to see academy players getting minutes. Well done, Mason.
George Abbott – N/A – See above.
Lucas Moura – 8 – What a way to say goodbye! Only on for a few minutes and he scores one of Tottenham’s goals of the season with tears in his eyes. Thank you, Lucas!
