Opinion: Player ratings from Tottenham’s 5-0 FA Cup win over Marine FC

The result was never in doubt, even before the kick-off, but Spurs looked incredibly professional against non-league Marine today. What an occasion it was for all involved.

Let’s take a look at how the individual players got on:

Joe Hart – 4 – The only real piece of work he had to do came in the form of a 35-yard shot which he misjudged and it cannoned off his crossbar.

Matt Doherty – 7.5 – Provided a potent attacking outlet down that right-hand side and provided an assist of sorts for the second Spurs goal.

Toby Alderweireld – 6 – For his standards, Toby had very little to do today, which was to be expected. Could have put him up front in the second half.

Joe Rodon – 7.5 – Similar day to Alderweireld but Rodon did actually come up with a potentially goal-saving block in the first-half too. Good to see him get some minutes.

Ben Davies – 7.5 – Got up and down the left pretty well and his final ball into the box was dangerous. Seemed to pick up a knock.

Moussa Sissoko – 7 – The GOAT just looked too strong and physical out there for the non-league side. Repeatedly waltzed past multiple Marine players through the centre of the pitch.

Harvey White – 8 – I thought that White looked incredibly composed in the midfield playing that Harry Winks type role for Spurs. Looks to be a real player with a great range of positive passing.

Dele Alli – 10 – Dele thrived today. You could tell that he was up for it from minute one as he started to pull out the tricks and flicks, working the space and creating chances galore for his teammates. At the heart of everything. He is not done at Tottenham (please).

Gedson Fernandes – 7 – Considering he has come in from the cold after months without football, he actually looked pretty bright. People will mock him, but he deserves support.

Lucas Moura – 8.5 – His footwork is just too good for teams of this level. Ghosted past players for fun and that free-kick was sublime. A great rotational player to have.

Carlos Vinicius – 10 – If you score a hat-trick, you get a ten. Simple. The first two may have been one-yard tap-ins, but Vinicius is there to give Kane a rest while also delivering goals. He is doing just that.

Substitutes:

Alfie Devine – 10 – Not only did he come on and look bright, but he also grabbed himself a very good goal! Deserves a ten on any day!

Japhet Tanganga – 6 – Not a lot to say about the performance but it was good to see Japhet out there at centre-back. Shame he didn’t start the game.

Jack Clarke – 6.5 – Looked very sharp after coming on and always wants to run at people.

Gareth Bale – 6 – Didn’t get on the ball a whole lot after coming on but seeing a four-time Champions League winner against Marine was fantastic.

Sergio Reguilon – N/A
