Opinion: Player ratings from Tottenham’s draw against LASK in the Europa League

Tottenham Hotspur have now officially qualified for the Europa League knockout stages with a draw against LASK in Austria this evening.

Let’s take a look at how the players got on:

Joe Hart – 4.5 – Some nice routine stops, as well as a very good block off his line in the first half. Could he have done better with the first goal? Maybe. Could he have done better with the second? Definitely.

Ben Davies – 4 – Did very little going forward and looked even worse at the back. A very sloppy performance from the captain on the night.

Davinson Sanchez – 5 – Put in a goal-saving block early on in the match. One nervy moment when he went to clear the ball and missed it. Went to sleep at the end and cost Spurs the win.

Japhet Tanganga – 6 – Looked good for only his second game back. Won a lot in the air and made a great lung-busting run late on in the first half. Good energy.

Matt Doherty – 3.5 – I know he just came back from illness, but Doherty looked woeful tonight. Sluggish, sloppy, lack of defensive effort. Improved slightly in the second half.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – 6 – Looked pretty solid off the ball and in possession. Wasn’t at his best when it came to distribution, but there was very little going on around him.

Giovani Lo Celso – 4.5 – The odd nice moment but Lo Celso wasn’t really at it this evening. Not enough effort off the ball and gave it away too much on the ball.

Tanguy Ndombele – 7 – Always looking to make things happen. Won the penalty in the first half, then won the ball back and assisted Son in the second.

Lucas Moura – 4.5 – The ball seemed to bounce off his feet this evening and his final pass was way off. Even Moura’s work rate wasn’t at its normal level.

Heung-min Son – 6 – Barely touched the ball in the first half, but he barely got any service to be fair. Got one clear chance in the second half and scored it.

Gareth Bale – 5.5 – Gareth gets an extra mark for dispatching the penalty, if not it would have been 4.5/10. Very lazy defensively tonight and didn’t offer too much going forward apart from a few moments in the second half.

Substitutes:

Moussa Sissoko – 5 – Came on o steady the ship and offered support to a struggling Doherty at right-back.

Steven Bergwijn – 6 – Made a few nice runs in behind and was rewarded with a penalty.

Eric Dier – 4 – Came on to see out the win.

Dele Alli – 6 – Came on and scored a penalty. Played some very nice football too.

Serge Aurier – N/A
