Tottenham Hotspur were finally back to winning ways this weekend after a torrid seven days with defeats against Arsenal and Dinamo Zagreb.

Let’s take a look at how the individual players got on this evening:

Hugo Lloris – 7 – Didn’t have a whole lot to do this evening but looked pretty confident when coming off his line.

Japhet Tanganga – 7.5 – Had some troubles dealing with Trezeguet running in behind but I thought his general performance was pretty decent. Plays too narrow at times but his tackling and blocking is top class. Still maintain that he is a centre-back.

Davinson Sanchez – 6.5 – Seemed to get in all sorts of trouble in the opening 30 minutes as he was obsessed with getting to the ball first no matter what. Needs to stand up and defend sensibly, you can’t always get there first.

Joe Rodon – 8.5 – Not sure why he was ever dropped really. In his few starts this season, he has looked more comfortable than many of the other centre-backs. Seems to have a real eye for important challenges and blocks.

Sergio Reguilon – 7 – A very chaotic player who can’t help but sprint around at 100% all of the time. Sometimes he just needs to calm down a little but a good performance. Shame to see him go off injured.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – 9 – The marshall in front of the defence with two creative minds alongside him in Lo Celso and Ndombele. Hojbjerg did well to keep the team shape and recycle possession expertly. Got better with every minute that went past.

Giovani Lo Celso – 5.5 – I think the start came too early for him, especially after a fair few minutes in mid-week. Just looked to be off the pace. I also think he is better suited to a deep central position.

Tanguy Ndombele – 8.5 – Some really impressive footwork from this man this evening. Just takes the pressure off the team in key areas, winning fouls, making ground and beating players.

Lucas Moura – 9.5 – His work rate was exceptional this evening. He was winning the ball back all over the pitch, defending well in his own box and looked dangerous on the attack. His assist for the opening goal was excellent. Incredible performance.

Harry Kane – 9 – Some lovely moments of deep link-up play in a new role this evening. Kane played mainly as a number 10 with another striker ahead of him to create for. Was it a penalty? I don’t think so but he took it well. Quality all-round performance from Kane.

Carlos Vinicius – 8.5 – His first Premier League goal in a Spurs shirt. Vinicius worked hard this evening and deserved the tap-in. To be honest, I thought Spurs could have played to his strengths more in terms of chipping it long and getting crosses in the box.

Substitutes:

Ben Davies – 7 – Really impressive offensively and defensively after coming on.

Steven Bergwijn – 6 – Came on, worked hard and got into some great areas. Just lacks all confidence at the moment.

Moussa Sissoko – N/A
