Opinion: Pochettino must now be brave and put faith in these six youngsters

Tottenham Hotspur have dropped two more points after that draw against Watford and it is finally time for change, before this season slips beyond repair.

While Pochettino seems to have taken the vast majority of the blame for the drop in form this season, I believe the senior Spurs stars must stand up and be counted.

The likes of Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, and Danny Rose in particular have simply not been good enough.

Pochettino has tried rotating the squad and has attempted numerous formations so far this season, so at least he is actively trying to make a change with the resources he has.

However, it is time for the Argentine to be brave and take a far larger step.

The poor performances are not isolated. They have occurred across 12 games this season now and many have been given and have wasted their chances.

I believe that Pochettino should now be building for the future by creating a new-look team around some of his new youngsters.

Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon recently joined the club in the summer, while Oliver Skipp, Troy Parrott and Japhet Tanganga have shown promise in the academy. I would also add Juan Foyth to this list as a youngster who deserves a far larger team role.

Drop the senior stars who have either lost interest or lost a step and give the youngsters a chance to shine whilst building for the future.
