Antonio Conte would likely be reluctant to change a winning formula ahead of Tottenham’s trip to Nottingham Forest but we believe the Italian may end up making a couple of changes to his starting eleven.
Spurs travel to the City Ground for a Premier League fixture for the first time in 23 years this afternoon, with Forest now back in the big time following their play-off victory last season.
Following their long-awaited promotion, Forest have made 16 signings this summer, with former Tottenham man Serge Aurier, who is now a free agent, rumoured to become their seventeenth (The Time).
Antonio Conte confirmed in his press conference on Friday that Cristian Romero and Oliver Skipp are once again not available for the game due to injury, however on a positive note, added that he expects both players to return to training by the start of next week (Football.London).
The Italian was also dismissive of concerns over Son Heung-min’s form, insisting that he has been happy with the South Korean’s attitude and performances (Football.London).
That indicates that a change to the forward line is not likely today, and would expect Conte to stick with a very similar eleven to the one that started against Wolves.
However, the Forest game comes at the start of a busy run of fixtures for Spurs, who travel to the London Stadium just three days later.
We think that the Italian might be tempted to decide to rotate in a couple of positions, namely at right-back and in central midfield.
We expect Yves Bissouma and Matt Doherty to make their first starts of the season.
Spurs Web’s predicted eleven: Hugo Lloris, Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier, Ben Davies, Matt Doherty, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Yves Bissouma, Ivan Perisic, Dejan Kulusevski, Heung-min Son, Harry Kane.
