With just over 10 games left to be played for each of the teams in the Premier League, we wanted to have a go at predicting what the final table could look like come May.
Let’s run through the table from first to last…
– Man City – In hope more than expectation. I just couldn’t bring myself to write the other thing.
– Arsenal – Hard to begrudge them the title if they win it, but they may just run out of steam.
– Man United – Will hit some patchy form from here on out but just about clinch third.
– Tottenham – Spurs will win the battle of the inconsistent top-four chasers, but not by much.
– Liverpool – Ultimately, their big-name players will drag them to a respectable finish.
– Newcastle – They don’t quite have the squad depth to keep it up for 38 games (yet).
– Brighton – Once again, the foundations of a super team if they can keep their star players.
– Chelsea – Their slightly improved form from the last ten games sees them climb two places.
– Brentford – A cohesive unit that lacks the depth to really challenge for European places.
– Fulham – A fantastic top-half finish for a team many thought would struggle this year.
– Aston Villa – Neither here nor there. Will be disappointed after their recent spending.
– Everton – A brave call but Dyche will instil a sense of consistency in their defending.
– Crystal Palace – An XI filled with ‘spark’ players but not always the best team performers.
– Leicester City – James Maddison will drag them up the table, but still disappointing.
– West Ham – A woeful season after so much promise last year. They stay up, at least.
– Wolves – Sometimes hard to beat but they struggle so much to score goals these days.
– Nottingham Forest – A team full of new players, staying up is a huge result for them.
– Leeds United – It has been a fall from grace over the past two years. Back to the Championship.
– Bournemouth – Never looked to have an XI or squad capable of staying up.
– Southampton – Somewhat of a shock as they have some good players. Many will now leave.
