Even nearly two years after his departure, Spurs still need someone who can properly replace Christian Eriksen.
A creative midfielder is one of our biggest needs at the moment, so who would be a viable target? That brings me to Ruslan Malinovskyi.
Who is Ruslan Malinovskyi? Ruslan is a 28-year-old creative midfielder who plays for Atalanta in Serie A and is a full international for Ukraine. I believe he would be the perfect player to play that number ten role behind Son and Kane.
Let’s take a deep dive into some of his stats:

- Last season he was 3rd in big chances created in Serie A
- Currently, his season he’s 5th in key passes per game in Serie A
- Last season he was 4th in key passes per game in Serie A

- No one in Serie A has scored more goals from outside the box than he has since he joined Atalanta in 2019
This guy is the definition of a playmaker.
You’re probably wondering how it would even be possible for us to get this guy, considering how well he grades out statistically.
Well, when January comes around, he’ll only have 18 months left on his contract. Also, at 28, it would be a prime time for a team like Atalanta, known to be open to offers for their stars, to cash in on him.
If the opportunity presents itself, Spurs should be looking to be at the front of the queue to obtain his signature.
We’re yet to be linked to him in the press, unfortunately, but, I’m hoping we’ll look at his contract situation and see an opportunity to pounce. He would be a perfect fit for our team.
