Opinion: Should Christian Eriksen start against Man City this weekend?

Tottenham Hotspur face a tough visit to the Etihad this weekend as they come up against the back-to-back reigning Premier League champions. Not the easiest fixture for only your second game of the new season.

However, at the very least Spurs have three points on the board from their 3-1 win over Aston Villa last weekend.

Having said that, if Tottenham do want to start challenging for the title, they are going to have to pick up draws and wins away from home against the other big six clubs.

Pochettino will obviously need to select his strongest possible XI for the City match and I see no version of this team that does not include Christian Eriksen.

After his impressive cameo against Villa, Eriksen has proved that he is in the right mindset to compete. Who knows whether he is playing for the club or playing for a move, but either way, Spurs would be foolish to not take advantage of that energy.

With Dele Alli out injured and Lo Celso probably not ready to start, Spurs would miss that cutting edge, spark, and creativity in the final third without Eriksen on the pitch.

An absolute must-starter for me this weekend.

What do you think?
