Opinion: Should Spurs take down the huge Mauricio Pochettino flag?

We all know the flag I’m talking about. The huge Argentine masterpiece with Poch’s arms outstretched like Jordan Belfort in the Wolf of Wall Street. Should it stay or should it go?

I am firmly in the stay camp. I understand why some people believe it should be taken down, but I respectfully disagree with this idea.

After what he did for the club over half a decade, taking us from the Europa League to the Champions League Final and putting the team on the map, he deserves recognition.

In my opinion, he goes down in history just as the likes of Bill Nicholson have. Pochettino is the closest thing Spurs have had to Bill Nick in this modern era.

I don’t see the flag as disrespectful to Mourinho, and I don’t think he is bothered by it at all. In fact, if someone asked him at a press conference, I imagine he would urge for it to stay.

Pochettino is now and forever will be a legend of the club. I think it gives the stadium character to leave little mementoes of all those who have made such big impressions.

However, I understand that I am just one fan. Therefore, I believe that the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust should hold a vote and decide definitively one way or the other.
