Opinion: Southampton is the definition of a must-win for Poch and Spurs

After the week Tottenham have had, the last thing that Pochettino needs is another defeat, particularly one at home.

The old White Hart Lane was a fortress in the final season of its use, something the new stadium has been unable to boast as of yet.

Spurs have already lost to Newcastle United there this season and will not want to add Poch’s old side, Southampton, to that list.

The Lilywhites have also already lost two games in the past week, starting with Leicester in the Premier League, followed by an embarrassing League Cup exit at the hands of Colchester.

Much like Spurs needed that dominant 4-0 display against Crystal Palace earlier this month, another comfortable win would do the team and the gaffer the world of good.

With the fans already on his back, I am honestly unsure as to whether Pochettino can afford another loss right now, especially with Bayern Munich fast approaching too.

Somehow, despite it only being the seventh game of the new Prem season, Southampton at home already feels like a must-win for Spurs.
