Opinion: Spurs must go in big for Norwich pair to form a decade-long partnership

Tottenham Hotspur, Daniel Levy, and Mauricio Pochettino all share the same philosophy of investing in young and promising talents over buying players already at their peak.

As a result, I strongly believe that the Norwich City pair of Max Aarons and Ben Godfrey are absolute must-buys in the next year for Spurs.

While they will already fetch a pretty penny, the price tags with these players will only go up and up in the years to come, so Spurs need to strike early.

Tottenham’s right-back issue has been well-documented in recent weeks and both Vertonghen and Alderweireld are currently set to leave on frees next summer.

So, could right-back Aarons and centre-back Godfrey be the long-term solutions?

I believe buying a pair of English youngsters who have experience in both the Prem and at England U21 level, as well as a strong partnership together, is a no-brainer.

If they form a successful bond at Spurs, it could prove to be a partnership that spans a decade, with Godfrey at 21-years-old and Aarons at 19.

Not to mention that fact that Spurs have been linked to both players in the past, with the Daily Mail stating that Tottenham had eyes on Godfrey and Football London saying that Spurs were interested in Aarons.

Both look to be incredible young talents and they are only getting better!
