Opinion: Stealing one player from every Premier League team for Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur are in desperate need of some strengthening in key areas, and what better way to do that than steal a star player from every single Premier League rival?

Let’s take a look at who we would pick from each team:

Arsenal – Bukayo Saka – I have picked him the last few times I have done one of these and this year is no different. A class player who looks to be on the way up even further.

Man City – Phil Foden – Spurs are crying out for some playmaking flair and Phil Foden is arguably England’s best young player for that attribute.

Man United – Marcus Rashford – It’s very tempting to take Cristian Eriksen back, but Marcus Rashford is on fire this season so let’s get him in a Tottenham shirt.

Newcastle – Bruno Guimarães – Bruno has been a class purchase for Newcastle in the middle of the pitch and could be a useful Bentancur replacement for Spurs.

Liverpool – Alisson – With Virgil Van Dijk not looking quite the player he once was and Hugo Lloris coming to the end of his Spurs career, why not have the best keeper in the world?

Brighton – Kaoru Mitoma – One of the stand-out emerging talents in the Premier League, he can’t stop creating and scoring goals at the moment for Brighton.

Brentford – Ivan Toney – Depending on the outcome of his betting scandal, Ivan Toney would finally be the like-for-like Harry Kane centre-forward back-up Spurs have needed for years.

Fulham – Joao Palhinha – The cog that makes the Fulham midfield tick in an impressive season, plenty will be lining up to place a bid for him this summer.

Chelsea – Enzo Fernandez – If nothing else, it would be funny to take someone they just paid so much money for.

Aston Villa – Lucas Digne – The left-back was incredible for Everton, if Tottenham could unlock that kind of form again, he would be a great squad option. Ollie Watkins is also obviously tempting.

Crystal Palace – Michael Olise – I think this kid is going to become one of the standout wingers in the Premier League so let’s grab him early.

Wolves – Max Kilman – A young English centre-back with plenty of room to grow. Certainly a good option for the back three at Spurs.

Nottingham Forest – Brennan Johnson – We’ve taken a lot of young attackers in this list, but one more can’t hurt. He has been the shining light for Forest this season.

Everton – Jordan Pickford – A nice homegrown backup for Alisson in this new Tottenham squad.

Leicester City – James Maddison – One of the few realistic targets for Spurs this summer. Tottenham are crying out for his creativity.

West Ham – Declan Rice – By far the only real class option in that squad.

Bournemouth – Illya Zabarnyi – A bright young defender who Spurs could definitely do with.

Leeds United – Jack Harrison – A great squad option who can play across the front line or at wing-back, which is perfect for Spurs at the moment.

Southampton – James Ward-Prowse – Those free-kicks alone!
