Opinion: The best combined Tottenham and Liverpool XI

Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool both have some talented players, although the unbeaten Reds have a far superior squad at this moment in time.

We thought it would be interesting to make a combined XI, assuming that everyone was fit and injury-free for both sides.

The vast majority of the defence took little working out, as Liverpool possess some of the best in world football.

Alisson takes up the position between the sticks, with the trusty Virgil Van Dijk ahead of him and Alexander-Arnold and Robertson in the full-back positions.

As Tottenham best defender this season, we have opted for the pacey Davinson Sanchez over Joe Gomez on this occasion.

In the centre of midfield, we have gone with the incredibly talented Tanguy Ndombele, who will surely be a Premier League hit once he recovers from his injuries.

Alongside him, perhaps one of the most underrated footballers in the world in Wijnaldum. Roberto Firmino sits in a deeper position than normal ahead of the duo, with him and Harry Kane being interchangeable in the number 10 and 9 roles.

Heung Min Son and Sadio Mane get the nod ahead of Mo Salah this time around, as I feel they would offer more to the team.
