Opinion: The five Spurs player Levy must put up for sale in January

Tottenham Hotspur need to clear our the deadwood in this squad as soon as possible, in order to allow Mourinho to part with those players he does not want. The head coach will then be able to bring in some players of his own.

So, who exactly should Spurs be looking to sell in January?

Victor Wanyama –

His time has been up in North London for a while now, which is a shame, as the partnership he had going with Dembele in midfield back in 2017 was unbeatable. However, he has been out of favour with both Poch and Mourinho, so a sale needs to happen now.

Christian Eriksen –

I would assume that Eriksen would be very against a January sale, as it would forfeit a huge bonus payment if he were to join a club on a free transfer. However, if Spurs can convince him to get behind a sale or swap deal, it must be done.

Danny Rose –

I don’t think Danny wants to leave either, but if Levy is not going to offer him a new contract then now is the time to sell. Perhaps an offer from a club up north would convince the left-back to move on. Although, I have to say that I would love nothing more than to see him back at his best under Mourinho.

Kyle Walker-Peters –

Now 22-years-old, it clearly is not going to happen for Kyle at Tottenham. Both Pochettino and Mourinho seem to be in agreement that he isn’t up to the standard needed at Spurs, so Levy would do well to cash in now.

Cameron Carter-Vickers –

With the likes of Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Sanchez, Foyth, Tanganga, Dier, and Davies at the club, there is simply no room for Carter-Vickers. He hasn’t quite proven himself while out on loan over the past few years, and it may now be time to call it a day.
