Opinion: The Spurs starting XI we desperately want to see against Everton

Tottenham Hotspur take on Everton later this evening and Jose Mourinho’s men are in need of a positive performance after their woeful showing against Sheffield.

While we appreciate that this XI may not be the most likely, we wanted to take a look at the starting line-up we would love to see against the Toffees.

We believe that Mourinho should be adopting a free-flowing 4-3-3 formation to make the most of the attacking and creative talent at the top end of the pitch at Spurs.

Harry Kane leads the line with Son and Bergwijn either side to provide width, pace, and shots on goal. This can be compared to Kane for England when he has Sancho and Sterling either side.

Lo Celso and Ndombele are given license to roam in the centre of the pitch, with Harry Winks acting as the pivot in deep midfield, the position in which we believe he excels.

In defence, we agree that Eric Dier deserves a run in the team, but needs the steady head of Toby Alderweireld in there to guide him.

Serge Aurier has played a lot of football and does not thrive in a flat back four, so we have opted for Moussa Sissoko as a more well-rounded cover option.

On the other side, Ryan Sessegnon is given a chance in the team as we believe he is the only left-sided defender at the club with a long-term future in North London.

Hugo Lloris deservedly retains his spot between the sticks.

What would your dream XI be?
