Opinion: The starting XI we want to see Mourinho field against Aston Villa

Tottenham Hotspur take on Aston Villa away in the Premier League once the teams return from winter break, as Mourinho’s men look to build on two straight league wins.

Last time out, the Lilywhites shocked Man City with a 2-0 home victory that propelled them up the leaderboard, now just four behind Chelsea in fourth.

Let’s take a look at who we at Spurs Web want to see play against Villa:

We have gone for Hugo between the sticks again, despite his horror show against Southampton in the FA Cup before the break.

At the back, we have the solidity of Alderweireld and Tanganga on the left, with Sanchez and the more attacking Serge Aurier on the right side of defence.

Harry Winks’ incredible form keeps him in the side as a sweeper, with the more creative Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele ahead of him.

New signing Steven Bergwijn will be looking to make it two goals from two games on the right, while Son operates from the left.

We can all wish that Troy Parrott will finally get a start up top, although Lucas Moura is probably more realistic.
