Opinion: The three Spurs starlets Pochettino should recall from loan

Tottenham Hotspur are struggling across all competitions so far this season, with just three wins in 12 games so far after the disappointing draw against Watford yesterday.

Only a handful of Tottenham players are standing out as consistently positive performers, such as Heung Min Son, Harry Kane, and Tanguy Ndombele.

Pochettino is having to deal with a number of senior stars who simply are not performing at the level needed in the Premier League and Champions League.

However, the club have talented starlets in the academy and players out on loan who are impressing for lower-league first teams.

Let’s take a look at the three players Pochettino should be pushing to recall:

Jack Clarke –

Not through merit as the lad has barely played so far this season, but Clarke is wasted in the Leeds reserves. Why not recall him and give him the chance to impress at Tottenham? At the moment, a fresh injection of pace, youth, and drive could be exactly what the club needs. Look at Hudson-Odoi at Chelsea or Dan James at Man United.

Jack Roles –

Roles has really impressed so far at Cambridge United, scoring yet again this weekend. Already nicknamed ‘The Wizard’ at his current club, the midfielder has been putting in consistently positive performances in the first team. Meanwhile, the likes of Christian Eriksen have been underperforming for months? Why not let the lad have a chance?

Cameron Carter-Vickers –

Man of the match for Stoke City this weekend, Carter-Vickers is in good form, which is more than you can say about any other Tottenham defender at the club. He has also been around the first team at Spurs for a number of seasons. Is it time to give him a real shot?

I would love to see Troy Parrott and Japhet Tanganga given some game time too, as they have impressed me every time I have seen them. It is about time to drop the underperforming first-team big names and give chances to those who deserve them and those who will shape the future of Spurs.
