Irrespective of who takes over as Spurs’ next head coach, there is no doubt that the squad looks in need of major surgery this summer.

It is clear to all observers that the Lilywhites are in need of strengthening at the back but central midfield is also an area of concern with Rodrigo Bentancur out of action until November while the squad also lacks a creative midfielder.

In addition, the Lilywhites might also need reinforcements upfront, with Lucas Moura expected to leave the club and Arnaut Danjuma’s loan spell coming to an end.

Meanwhile, doubts remain over the future of Harry Kane, who looks no closer to signing a new contract.

Here are some of the players who will be out of contract this June, who could prove useful additions to the Tottenham squad (via Transfermarkt):

1. Marucs Thuram, Borussia Mocnhengladbach
2. Adrien Rabiot, Juventus
3. Youri Tielemens, Leicester City
4. Daichi Kamada, Eintracht Frankfurt
5. Wilfried Zaha, Crystal Palace
6. Evan Ndicka, Eintracht Franfurt
7. Stefan de Vrij, Inter Milan
8. Marco Asensio, Real Madrid
9. Raphael Guerreiro, Borussia Dortmund
10. Naby Keita, Liverpool

There is no doubt that many of these players would improve our squad but there will be plenty of competition for their signature.

Tottenham look likely to miss out on European football altogether next season, which would make it very difficult to attract these players.
