Opinion: The video that shows why Spurs fans should be applauding Kieran Trippier

Tottenham Hotspur have now sold Kieran Trippier to Atletico Madrid for something in the region of £20m, after the right-back passed his medicals in Spain (BBC).

This comes after the full-back played 114 games in a Lilywhite shirt over four seasons, being a massive part of Pochettino’s plan in North London (Wikipedia).

Trippier has been right there through the process from top-four wannabes to Champions League finalists, and he has always given 100% in the shirt.

Despite having a pretty awful season last time out, Tripps should leave with his head held high and the Spurs fans should be giving him a standing ovation.

The man clearly loved the club and the fans, as shown by his actions after the CL Final defeat. Trippier went out of his way to walk over to the Spurs faithful, in tears, and personally thank them for their support and shake their hands.

Utter class on and off the pitch, what a shame he couldn’t leave us on a high.
