Opinion: These four players must come into the side against Everton to mix things up

Tottenham Hotspur’s defence has been abysmal so far this season, yet the same old players are being chosen by Pochettino again and again. Surely it has to stop somewhere?

I am hoping that the Argentine finally decides to switch things up this weekend away to Everton, with Spurs in desperate need of a win and a clean sheet.

So far this season, the Lilywhites have managed just the three shut outs in all competitions which included the 0-0 against Colchester that eventually resulted in a penalty shootout loss.

For me, the first player to go has to be Serge Aurier. A red card against Southampton. A penalty given away to Liverpool. One of the worst performances I have ever seen against Bayern Munich. How is this guy still starting?

While I would like to see Juan Foyth try out at right-back, I think Walker-Peters is the choice against Everton. I would then drop Toby Alderweireld and bring in Foyth to partner Davinson Sanchez.

That partnership has not been tried often enough, especially considering they could become the first-team duo after Toby and Jan leave.

On the left side of defence, Danny Rose is also in desperate need of a dropping. With Sessegnon probably not yet available to start, Ben Davies seems like the obvious and sensible choice.

Finally, I realise that the game may come too soon for him, but I would love to see Eriksen dropped and Giovani Lo Celso given his first start in a Spurs shirt.

Come on, Pochettino. Change things up… please.
