Opinion: This Spurs starting XI with an average age of 23 that should play this season

Tottenham Hotspur are in dire need of refreshment as their once youthful squad has become stale. Pochettino put his faith in young stars when he first arrived, and the project has taken the team to the next level.

Unfortunately, that original core group were unable to scoop a trophy, but Poch must now be brave and start from scratch, this time with greater funding at his disposal and a world-class stadium.

I have put Paulo Gazzaniga in goal as a newer and younger option to Hugo Lloris, with the Frenchman also being out injured.

The backline has an average age of just 20.75 years, with Ryan Sessegnon, Japhet Tanganga, Davinson Sanchez, and Juan Foyth.

While this may not be the strongest back four moving forward, I believe it would shake things up and provide youth and hunger in the short-term.

The central two remain as the 22-year-old Tanguy Ndombele and 23-year-old Harry Winks, with Giovani Lo Celso just in front of them.

Dele Alli comes back into the first-team set-up, with the older and more experienced goal scorers of Harry Kane and Heung Min Son up front.

What do you think of this team?
