Opinion: Tottenham player ratings from the 2-0 win over Brentford

Tottenham Hotspur made it back-to-back wins in the Premier League this evening with a 2-0 victory over Brentford in N17.

Let’s take a look at how the individual players got on:

Hugo Lloris – 7 – Not Hugo’s most commanding performance. There were a few iffy moments when coming off his line and distributing short-range passes. But, at the end of the day, he made the saves he needed to make.

Emerson Royal – 7.5 – Really impressed with the engine on this guy. He has no problem getting up and down that wing all day long. Just needs to work on his final third play.

Davinson Sanchez – 7 – A tidy performance from the Colombian after his nightmare against Mura. Good underlaps to offer support and capable at the back.

Eric Dier – 8 – Dier is coming into his own in that central role. He steps out and presses really well, while also covering smartly when others go forward and winning aerial balls.

Ben Davies – 8 – We’ll give him some generous credit for the goal. Davies’ all-around play today was fantastic though. Not only is he looking solid at the back, but he is contributing with underlaps in the attack too.

Sergio Reguilon – 8.5 – This man is getting better and better by the game. The energy is there. The fitness is there. The effort is there. It’s just consistency with his final ball in certain situations. Got one assist, could have had two or three. Superb though.

Oliver Skipp – 9 – Another fantastic performance from the youngster. He works tirelessly to turn the ball over, keep it, and use it positively. Looks the real all-around package.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – 8 – He is building a great partnership with Skipp where Hojbjerg pushes forward and joins attacks more. For a defensive midfielder, he is very good in the final third. Another tidy performance.

Heung-min Son – 9 – A great ball into the box for the first goal and was there to tap home the second. Definitely his best game under Conte so far. He seems to be getting used to his new number 10/pocket role.

Lucas Moura – 7.5 – A great player to have for that high press as he will run for you all day long. Hit and miss with his final ball again today, but caused problems and won the ball back a lot.

Harry Kane – 8 – Another nearly day for Harry in front of goal, but the rest of his game was superb. Great build up play, created the second goal, held the ball up well. I have no problems with the way he is playing.

Substitutes:

Harry Winks – 6 – Came on to see the game out and worked hard.

Japhet Tanganga – N/A

Steven Bergwijn – N/A
