Tottenham Hotspur are through to the fourth round of the FA Cup where they will take on fellow Premier League club Southampton after defeating Middlesbrough 2-1 in North London last night.
Let’s take a look at how each and every one of the Spurs lads got on:
Paulo Gazzaniga – 8 – Very commanding in the air when he needed to be, made multiple smart stops, prevented an embarrassing moment with Sanchez, and distributed well.
Ryan Sessegnon – 7.5 – Another solid display on the left-hand side. You feel that he has more to give, but he isn’t making any mistakes.
Jan Vertonghen – 7 – A much better game from the captain. He was quick into the challenge and turned over possession countless times. Needs pace around him.
Davinson Sanchez – 4 – Bit of a nightmare game for Sanchez, but I am sure he will put it behind him.
Japhet Tanganga – 10 – Simply could not ask for more from this lad. Perfect in attack and defence, could he be a new right-back option?
MORE SPURS STORIES
Eric Dier – 3 – Gave the ball away so much again tonight and always just seems two yards behind the pace of the game. No excuse anymore.
Harry Winks – 6.5 – A quiet game, but Winks does the non-sexy non-glory stuff very well in these types of games for Spurs. Needed a solid defensive midfielder next to him.
Christian Eriksen – 7 – A good game from the Dane after his Liverpool horror show. Kept the ball moving and fed the two Argentine’s well.
Erik Lamela – 8.5 – Back to his best with a sensational goal and some great work rate tonight. Just stay injury-free Erik!
Giovani Lo Celso – 9 – His best game in a Spurs shirt so far. Looks to be getting his fitness and sharpness up.
Lucas Moura – 6.5 – A quiet one from him, largely due to the runs from deep from the likes of Lo Celso, Lamela, and Eriksen.
Substitutes –
Heung Min Son – 6 – A real live wire when he came on in the second half.
Dele Alli – N/A
