Tottenham Hotspur were back with a bang this evening in the Premier League with one of the most eventful 2-2 matches you are ever likely to see.
Hugo Lloris – 8.5 – Made some big saves at vital moments to keep Tottenham in the game. The captain very rarely lets Spurs down these days.
Emerson Royal – 8 – Looked half a yard off the pace at times, as seen in his booking and the Liverpool penalty shout. But he did put in a lot of effort, had some good defensive moments, and some great moments going forward too.
Davinson Sanchez – 8.5 – Seemed to win everything in the air, block every shot, and clear every cross. It was the fundamentals of defending done extremely well.
Eric Dier – 8 – Not as busy in the central role without a traditional Liverpool number 9 but did well when called upon. Some of his long-range passing was exceptional!
Ben Davies – 8.5 – Defending down Mo Salah’s side is not easy but Ben Davies coped well this evening. He barely put a foot wrong and used the ball really nicely too.
Ryan Sessegnon – 9 – His main job was essentially to mark Salah off the ball and bomb forward when possible on the ball. That is no easy task. He did both with great effect.
Harry Winks – 8 – Very impressive in the centre of midfield. Like a throwback to when he first broke into the side. Used it well, won free-kicks, and retained possession. Nice assist for Son’s goal too.
Tanguy Ndombele – 7 – A wonderful assist for Kane’s opener. Unfortunately, I just felt as if he went off the boil after that and looked a yard or two off the pace in the engine room.
Dele Alli – 9 – A superb performance. Dele looked like a man possessed out there at times. Unlucky not to score after a superb Alisson save and should have squared better to Kane. However, Alli should be proud of himself today.
Heung-min Son – 8 – His touch just wasn’t quite there at times today and he missed a big chance, but he also popped up with the all-important equaliser.
Harry Kane – 8 – He took his goal very well, although he could have had one or two more out there. Hopefully, this will be a catalyst for a return to goalscoring form.
Substitutes:
Oliver Skipp – 7 – Came on and worked very hard in the engine room.
Lucas Moura – 7 – Some nice positive running after coming on.
