Opinion: What I want to see from Tottenham in the FA Cup this year

Typically under Pochettino, Tottenham have named weakened or rotated teams in the early stages of the domestic cups.

If they get knocked out, they get knocked out. If they reach the latter stages, the Argentine starts to play the first team.

Let’s try to now put a positive spin on the Colchester defeat last night. Now that Spurs are out of the Carabao Cup, they have just three competitions to focus on.

In my opinion, the Premier League is already way out of reach and top four should be achievable if Spurs can regain some sort of form.

Arsenal, Chelsea, and Man United are all struggling somewhat too, so I am still confident that the Lilywhites can grab third spot.

As a result, I want to see Pochettino play the first team in the FA Cup from start to finish.

I don’t care if Spurs draw the lowest-ranked team in the competition, I want to see the likes of Kane and Son and Alderweireld from the start. I want to see some 7-0 dominant games. Most importantly, I want the job done.

If Spurs actually take a domestic cup seriously for once, we may be able to see this team lift a trophy after an 11-year wait.

This isn’t just a selfish fan view either. No matter what trophy it is, lifting silverware breeds confidence and a winning mentality, something this Spurs squad desperately needs, now more than ever.

Please Poch, go all out on the FA Cup.
