Opinion: Who will be Spurs captain now that Kane and Lloris are both out injured?

When Tottenham Hotspur captain, Hugo Lloris, was injured against Brighton at the start of the season, Harry Kane stepped up to wear the armband for his boyhood team.

Kane had previously been the vice-captain under Pochettino and retained the armband when Jose Mourinho took over as the new head coach.

Jan Vertonghen is technically still the other vice-captain (Football London), meaning that under Pochettino he would have likely stepped up now to wear the armband while Kane and Lloris are injured.

But, will this be the case under Jose Mourinho?

The Belgian defender has not been in good form of late, so I would overlook him for the armband at this time. I would guess that Mourinho will instead opt for Toby Alderweireld as his new skipper.

However, if I were the Special One, I would make a brave call and name either Dele Alli or Heung Min Son as the new temporary captain for the next month or so.

Give these lads a bit of extra responsibility and I think they could shine.

Who do you think should be captain?
