Opinion: Why I think this Christian Eriksen rumour is completely fake

The Daily Mail have reported that Juventus have contacted Christian Eriksen over a possible move to Italy, but it isn’t what you may think.

The Old Lady are not looking to take the Great Dane before the window shuts on September 2, but instead they want him for absolutely nothing in the summer of 2020.

Juventus have a track record of securing free signings, from Emre Can to Adrien Rabiot to Aaron Ramsey in the last couple of seasons alone.

However, even though Eriksen’s current contract does run out in 2020, is this report legit, or is it completely fake?

As the Daily Mail acknowledge, Christian Eriksen is only free to negotiate with foreign clubs come January 2020 and is not allowed to do so at this moment in time.

The Dane may talk to Juve if Spurs allow it, but why would they let talks open to discuss a free transfer?

If you ask me, this report is completely unfounded and ridiculous.

Daniel Levy needs to get Eriksen to sign a new deal before stuff like this does happen though.
