Opinion: Why no away fans on Tuesday night could be a huge boost for Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur have a huge opportunity to turn their form around on Tuesday night, a home match in the Champions League without a single away fan.

Spurs have won just three games from 12 so far this season across all competitions and have yet to record a Champions League victory.

However, Red Star Belgrade away fans have been banned from the match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this week after UEFA punished the club for racist chanting during a qualifying match (Sky Sports).

Spurs have a unique chance to create an unrivalled atmosphere at the ground in order to roar the team into form, without any influenced from the away end.

Tottenham fans have to put their differences aside and ensure that the stadium is rocking and that the Spurs players feel the confidence buzzing around the place.

With Liverpool and Everton away coming up, the team is in desperate need of a season-changing match on Tuesday and the fans have to play their part.

Of course, if the supporters provide the atmosphere, which I’m sure they will, then the players have to bring the performance.

A Tuesday night under the lights in the biggest competition in club football with a 100% Tottenham crowd, surely this has all the makings of a memorable night.

I sure hope so.
