Opta predict where Spurs will finish in the Premier League table

The Premier League season came to an abrupt stop last month as a result of the coronavirus pandemic which has caused global disruption to day to day life and the sporting calendar.

Prior to the suspension, Tottenham had found themselves in a terrible run of form which saw Jose Mourinho’s side without a win in their last six matches in all competitions.

The North London outfit were eighth in the Premier League table, seven points behind rivals Chelsea who occupy fourth place with Mourinho’s side having recently blown the chance to overtake them.

Sports data giants Opta (as reported by the Liverpool Echo) have now crunched the numbers and simulated how they believe the Premier League table could look come the end of the season.

They have predicted that Tottenham would miss out on a top four finish for the first time in five campaigns.

Spurs have been tipped to finish in sixth place in the table with 58 points, two ahead of Arsenal who are predicted to occupy eighth position.
