While some Spurs fans admitted that the abuse directed at Harry Kane’s brother and agent, Charlie, during the summer was out of order, many insisted they both deserved it.
After publicly hinting at his desire to leave Tottenham, Kane allegedly tried to force the club’s hand into selling him to Manchester City by not showing up for pre-season training on time.
There were plenty of leaks to the press until the final weeks of the transfer window and some Spurs fans did not hold back from having a go at Charlie Kane on social media.
In the end, Daniel Levy held firm and managed to hold on to Kane but the 28-year-old has struggled to find form so far this season.
The Tottenham star admitted to The Evening Standard on Thursday that it was hard to read and listen to some of the things that were being said about his brother.
Reacting to Kane’s statement, some fans admitted that people took things too far in the summer. However, many Spurs fans suggested that Charlie Kane deserved the criticism he got for the way he handled the transfer.

Possibly because he orchestrated the clumsiest, greediest and most tin-eared, inept transfer attempt in recent memory? https://t.co/bE7I08lIFr

Good to se him sticking up for his brother. @HKane and his brother have gotten too much abuse. Will have a great season for @SpursOfficial under Conte imo. https://t.co/LJEMgQluZu

Harry, it’s most probably because he’s not very good at being a football agent.

Spurs Web Opinion
Fans are free to criticise Charlie Kane and he should expect that since he is in the public eye by representing Harry. However, abuse is never okay and there was plenty of abuse directed at Charlie over the summer.
