Wilson Palacios has been cleared to travel back from Liverpool with the squad after being released from hospital.

Palacios was taken to hospital to have a rib injury assessed after a heavy blow from Tony Hibbert, which led to a penalty.

The Honduran will be fully assessed over the course of the week in order to determine his availability for Saturday’s match against Wolves.

  1. Does anyone think we should buy some back up for Palacios in the January transfer window? I have been saying since the start of the season that if he gets injured, we have nobody else who can do the same job as him. I hope he is ok for the Wolves game, but if he does get injured for any length of time we are screwed!

  2. So are T.Hudd and Jenas to be forever confined to the bench eh boys? We’ve got a pretty diverse midfield as it is but strength in numbers can work too, however if we keep hauling in new players, the current batch are going to get itchy feet. Again no mention of wee Jimmy Krankie who is hitting rock solid form for us on a regular basis at the moment – I can’t wait to see Modric fit and see a Croatian double act on the boil…

  3. Jimmy…

The reason why Hudd and Jenas will be confined to the bench is simple. They aren’t good enough if you really want to win things!

  4. i think niko could play behind defoe. drop crouch and Keane. modric on the left and Lennon on the right with Wilson and sandro/thudd in the centre. sorted :)
