Lucas Bergvall is impressing at Spurs

Bergvall linked up with the Spurs squad this summer after Tottenham initially agreed a deal for him back in the January window.

Many Spurs fans would have seen the 18-year-old as a player for the future rather than one who can improve the first-team immediately but as soon as the youngster stepped foot onto the pitch in pre-season, it was clear that he was not fazed by playing at this level.

The teenager has evidently impressed Ange Postecoglou and his coaching staff, having come on as a substitute in both of Tottenham’s Premier League fixtures so far.

Pape Matar Sarr is a big fan of Bergvall

Bergvall showcased his quality on the ball and his bravery in possession in his cameos against Leicester and Everton, and Sarr admitted that it is his ability to keep calm under pressure that separates the youngster from the rest.

The Senegal international told The Sun: “Lucas. I really love his style. He’s never under pressure when he’s on the ball. Technically, he’s fantastic.

“He’s bound to be one of the world’s top players. He’s got all the assets. With work, he’ll get to the very top.”

Spurs Web Opinion

By the looks of it, Bergvall, Gray and Odobert are all much further along in their development than most of us initially thought, which makes our squad quite formidable.

All of them will continue getting better as they get more minutes through the season.
