Yes, it’s Sunday so that means only one thing. It’s time for the newspapers to once again link Tottenham Hotspur players with a move away from White Hart Lane.
Today, it’s the turn of Kyle Walker, who is being linked with a move to Manchester City in the Sunday Sun.
According to the report, Pep Guardiola has earmarked Walker has one of his top transfer targets but would have to pay £50million to land the England international.
The paper claims that Walker held ‘showdown talks’ with Mauricio Pochettino after hearing of City’s interest after which the Spurs boss handed a run of games to Kieran Trippier in the starting XI instead.
Walker signed a five-year deal in September which the paper claims is worth £60,000-a-week, while the likes of Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris earn in the region of £100,000-a-week. City are said to be prepared to offer £150,000-a-week.
We’re going to have to get used to even more transfer speculation over the coming weeks, unfortunately.
