Yes, it’s Sunday so that means only one thing.  It’s time for the newspapers to once again link Tottenham Hotspur players with a move away from White Hart Lane.

Today, it’s the turn of Kyle Walker, who is being linked with a move to Manchester City in the Sunday Sun.

According to the report, Pep Guardiola has earmarked Walker has one of his top transfer targets but would have to pay £50million to land the England international.

The paper claims that Walker held ‘showdown talks’ with Mauricio Pochettino after hearing of City’s interest after which the Spurs boss handed a run of games to Kieran Trippier in the starting XI instead.

Walker signed a five-year deal in September which the paper claims is worth £60,000-a-week, while the likes of Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris earn in the region of £100,000-a-week.  City are said to be prepared to offer £150,000-a-week.

We’re going to have to get used to even more transfer speculation over the coming weeks, unfortunately.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Would be a loss if Walker was to leave, yet Trippier is more than capable. We’ll need a replacement as Trips will need competition to keep improving.
City have 2 excellent young prospect’s that would be fantastic in exchange Iheanacho to give Kane and Jansen comp upfront and the young CB Abarabioyo to develop into a solid defensive (future) back 3 with CCV and Harry Maguire

  2. If Walker wants out and we can get £50m + we should spend it on Virgil Van Dijk, he would make a formidable three at the back with Alderweireld and Vertonghen.
