Parrott reveals his delight at signing new deal with Spurs

Tottenham striker Troy Parrott has revealed his delight at penning a new contract with the club.

Spurs announced on Friday that Parrott has signed a new deal that runs until 2023.

The teenager has achieved a couple of important milestones already this season including making his first Premier League appearance for Spurs and winning his first senior cap for the Republic of Ireland in the 3-1 win over Newzeland last November.

Parrott has seen no game time in recent weeks even though he is the only fit striker at the club with Harry Kane missing due to a hamstring injury.

Jose Mourinho has said that he does feel Parrott is ready to be an important first-team player (Football.London) but some Spurs fans are hoping that he would get more opportunities after committing his future to the club.

The striker took to social media to post the following after putting pen to paper on a new contract:

The fact that Parrott signed despite the lack of game time in recent weeks suggests that he trusts that he will get his chances under Jose Mourinho. The youngster will likely need to leave on loan next season as he isn’t going to play enough football to fast forward his development at Spurs.
