The 7-2 thrashing at the hands of Bayern Munich was one of the most embarrassing defeats that the club has suffered in its history.
While conceding seven goals at home and looking completely disorganised at the back wasn’t bad enough, the result was compounded by the fact that former Arsenal man Serge Gnabry netted four goals in the game.
Gnabry spent five years at Arsenal after joining the club from VfB Stuttgart in 2011 but only made a handful of appearances for their first team. He was subsequently sold to Werder Bremen before signing for Bayern, where he has become an important player for the team.
Gnabry displayed some finishing of the highest quality second half as Bayern ran riot and proceeded to post the following message on social media:

Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin and former Arsenal striker Ian Wright took toTwitter to praise their former midfielder for putting their fiercest rivals to the sword.

Spurs Web Opinion
While this defeat is certainly painful to take, the one saving grace is the fact that Spurs will still expect to qualify from this group. The result will come as a blow to the players’ confidence but they have to quickly forget about this disaster and get back to winning ways. The game against Brighton is now absolutely massive.
