Patrick Bamford has now revealed that Harry Kane is starting to make him panic in the race for the Premier League golden boot this season.
Kane currently leads the way not only for goals scored in the competition this season but also assists recorded with 19 and 13 respectively (BBC).
Mo Salah and Bruno Fernandes have 18 and 16 goals respectively, with Patrick Bamford currently sitting fourth in the charts, five behind Kane on 14.
It has been a stellar season in the Premier League for Bamford following his promotion from the Championship with Leeds last time out.
Given that Leeds and Tottenham both have just eight fixtures remaining, overhauling a five-goal deficit may be too much for the Englishman to achieve this season.
Kane, on the other hand, will be pushing for yet another golden boot to add to his collection. The Spurs striker won back to back titles in 2015/16 and 2016/17 but hasn’t picked one up since. However, he did win the 2018 World Cup golden boot with England.
Bamford said (Leeds United Podcast): “It sounds daft, I wouldn’t have thought it at the start of the season, but to see Harry Kane reach 19 goals, I’m like starting to panic.
“Thinking it’s like five goals more now, I’m going to have to start pulling my finger out a bit!”
