Paul Merson names the potential Spurs manager who he would also welcome at Arsenal

Paul Merson has claimed that Brighton boss Graham Potter would be a good appointment for Tottenham Hotspur.

Merson made the comments during his appearance on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports News (2:12pm, May 1, 2021) that he would happily see him succeed Mikel Arteta at Arsenal.

Tottenham have been left without a head coach after Daniel Levy took the decision last month to part company with Jose Mourinho and appoint 29-year-old Ryan Mason on an interim basis until the end of the season.

The Daily Mail recently reported that Potter could emerge as a candidate for the vacancy.

Spurs have seen Julian Nagelsmann confirmed as Bayern Munich’s next manager and Erik ten Hag sign a contract extension with Ajax over the past week.

Bild journalist Christian Falk has claimed that former RB Leipzig boss Ralf Rangnick has offered to the North Londoners, only for Daniel Levy to be seeking a younger coach.

Merson told Sky Sports: “I will put my neck on the line here. I would take him at Tottenham. I will tell you what, if Arteta left tomorrow morning, I would take him at Arsenal, if Arteta left tomorrow.”
