Paul Merson predicts the outcome of Tottenham’s trip to Leicester City

Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson has given his score prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s trip to Leicester City on Saturday evening.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side currently find themselves in third place in the Premier League table after both Arsenal and Chelsea failed to win last night, with Spurs now holding a two point advantage over their London rivals.

Goals from Harry Kane, Lucas Moura and Heung-min Son ensured that they bounced back from the defeat against Arsenal with victory over Southampton.

Nothing less than a win will do for Spurs this weekend if they are to keep the pressure on for a top four finish come the end of the campaign, along with the fact that a victory will send the players into the crunch match against Barcelona high on confidence.

Merson, who now works as a football pundit for Sky Sports believes that Tottenham will continue their winning ways when they meet the Foxes.

He told Sky Sports: “I watched Leicester last week against Watford when they won 2-0 but if they give Tottenham the chances Watford had, then they’ll be punished.

“In James Maddison, who has two goals in his last two games, Leicester have an excellent young player who is only going to get better and better but I just think this Tottenham team will be too strong for Leicester.

“Apart from that 45 minutes against Arsenal, Spurs have had a good start to the season and I see it continuing at the King Power Stadium.

“Prediction: 1-3.”
