Paul Merson has predicted the result of Tottenham’s clash against Nottingham Forest, which has a lot more riding on it for the away side than it does for the North London club.
It is now clear that Spurs are going to finish in the bottom half of the Premier League table, which is why there is not much at stake for the Lilywhites ahead of Monday’s game.
Ange Postecoglou will want to maintain momentum ahead of his side’s Europa League semifinals and finals, but he will also be conscious of needing to rest his key players to ensure they are fresh for those big games.
High-flying Nottingham Forest are looking to do the double over Spurs, but Paul Merson does not expect the Midlands side to have things their own way.

Paul Merson expects spoils to be shared on Monday
Unlike the North London club, the Midlands side have a lot to play for, needing a win to move back into the top four and three points clear of Aston Villa.
However, Merson pointed out that Nuno Espirito Santo’s men are not in a good run of form and predicted that they will be held to a draw by Spurs.
When asked to predict the result of Tottenham’s clash with Forest, the former Arsenal midfielder told Sportskeeda: “Nottingham Forest are struggling a bit at the moment. I don’t think they were good in their last two defeats against Everton and Aston Villa.
“There’s an interesting statistic I wanted to share – In their last seven games away from home, Forest have just one win inside 90 minutes and that came against Ipswich! I just hope Forest don’t melt away from here on because they’ve had an incredible season.
“I strongly believe that they deserve to play in Europe. Forest also have their FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City coming up later this month. Admit it, we all want them to be rewarded for what has been nothing short of a spectacular campaign.”
Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 Nottingham Forest.
A great opportunity for Tottenham’s squad players to prove their worth
Postecoglou is expected to rotate his squad significantly following the exertions of his players against Eintracht Frankfurt last Thursday.
The game could thus serve as a great opportunity for the likes of Wilson Odobert, Richarlison, Kevin Danso, Mathys Tel, Dejan Kulusevski and others to showcase what they can do.
Several starting berths for the semifinals and finals are at stake, and many of these players will believe that they can start against Bodo/Glimt.
