Paul Merson urges Spurs to raid West Ham

Tottenham Hotspur fans will be hoping to see their club bring in some new striking talent this transfer window, after their star man Harry Kane was hit with a nasty injury.

Kane picked up another ankle problem against Man United last Sunday, and will likely not return until early March.

Spurs are also without Heung Min Son as he flew out to play in the Asia Cup with his native South Korea.

Lucas Moura is still nursing his own injury, and Vincent Janssen remains out of favour, leaving just Fernando Llorente as Spurs’ only fit first team forward.

This situation has of course led to numerous rumours surrounding Tottenham and players they may sign to replace Kane for the next month or two.

Paul Merson believes that Spurs should go for West Ham’s want-away striker Marko Arnautovic.

The 29-year-old has been left out of West Ham’s squad for today’s match against Bournemouth, fuelling speculation around a move away.

Merson wrote this in the Daily Star: “Arnautovic is a gem. If you were Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United or Tottenham you would take him tomorrow.

“He could play for any of those teams. He’s a really good player and he’s not just a centre-forward.”
