Paul Robinson claims he would ‘absolutely love to see’ 25-year-old in a Spurs shirt

Former Tottenham goalkeeper, Paul Robinson admitted that he would love to see Jack Grealish come to Spurs but added that the chances of it happening are slim as the Aston Villa star will now be sought after by some of the biggest clubs around Europe.

Despite England losing 2-0 to Belgium on Sunday, which ended the Three Lions’ hopes of qualifying for the Nations League finals, Grealish’s performance was one of the biggest talking points from the match.

The Villa midfielder showed just why fans have been clamouring for Gareth Southgate to give him opportunities as he was arguably the best player on the pitch in what was just his first competitive start.

The 25-year-old was involved in some lovely link-up play with Harry Kane on the night, which may have left some Spurs fans wondering what if, given that the North Londoners failed to get a deal for Grealish over the line in the summer of 2018 (Independent).

When asked about the midfielder’s future, Robinson told Football Insider: “Top teams in Europe will be looking at Grealish and no disrespect to Aston Villa but they are not on the same level as Manchester City, Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich.

“He loves the club but if he wants to win things at some point he will have to leave Aston Villa. It depends on his ambition.

“I would absolutely love to see him in a Tottenham shirt.

“Any top club in Europe will take Jack Grealish right now if they could but he signed a new contract so Aston Villa will demand a huge price tag for him.

“If a club does have the money and Grealish wants to play Champions League football then a move is possible.

“I can see Jack Grealish at one of Europe’s top clubs.”
