Paul Robinson claims Spurs player is undroppable

Former Tottenham Hotspur number one Paul Robinson has lavished praise on Spurs forward Son Heung-min and claimed that he is one of the club’s best players.

Son didn’t impress too much in his first season at the club after arriving from Bayer Leverkusen but from his second season onward, he has kept improving as a player and has now become one of the mainstays of the Spurs team.

With both Harry Kane and Dele Alli missing with injuries for a fairly long spell last season, the South Korean stepped up and dragged the team to several victories.

The 27-year-old has started this campaign off in impressive fashion too as he has already netted eight goals and secured four assists in all competitions so far (tranfermarkt.com).

Robinson feels that just like Kane, Son has now achieved an untouchable status at Spurs as he is fundamental to the way the team plays.

Speaking to Football Insider, the former Spurs stopper said, “Son is not under the radar anymore. I think his impact and his value to the squad has been shown.

“We miss him when he leaves and goes off to play for his country for big chunks of the season. His quality with both feet, his impact going forward, his enthusiasm, his energy – he’s a huge key part of the team.

“He’s become a player that Mauricio Pochettino can’t leave out now. He’s like Harry Kane, untouchable.”

Spurs Web Opinion

You will be hard-pressed to find any Spurs fan that doesn’t love Son as the forward really seems to have an affection for the club. He certainly looks happy to be at Spurs and if he stays for three or four more years, there is no doubt in my mind that he will be hailed as a club legend.
