Roman Pavlyuchenko played down his match-winning free-kick as he helped Tottenham to a 1-0 win against Rubin Kazan.
Pav has found himself mostly limited to a bench spot during the Premier League campaign but is hoping to help Spurs secure a place in the knockout phase of the Europa League.
Redknapp had suggested earlier in the week that Pav could leave the club in January – there’s no doubt a lot of fans are generally frustrated with the Russian’s work-rate.
Let’s hope this isn’t a one off and he gets his act together!
“It’s my job to score. I didn’t do anything extraordinary, I just did my job,” he said on the club’s official website.
“There was no plan. I just hit the ball hard and hoped it went in.
“It was a great goal but all goals are beautiful, you remember them all. I scored a goal and in general, the victory was excellent.
“I like Rubin, they’re a good team, very dangerous.
“I don’t think the group stage is finished, we need more points yet and our aim is to progress as far as possible.”
